Lilly Frimpong

Educational/professional background

I am a medical doctor from Ghana with three years of clinical experience, during which I provided direct care to diverse patient populations and gained practical insights into the complex challenges of healthcare access and delivery in resource-limited settings. I am now transitioning my professional focus from acute clinical care to addressing the broader determinants of health, aiming to develop the expertise necessary to influence these factors, promote health, prevent disease, and improve wellbeing on a global scale.

Research interests or career goals

I am particularly passionate about maternal and child health and committed to advocating for initiatives, interventions, and policies that meaningfully reduce maternal and neonatal mortality.

Why I chose LSHTM/my programme

My interest in public health began during medical school, where I took part in annual community-based services and outreach programs to underserved towns. These experiences exposed me to the broader social, economic, and environmental factors that shape health, inspiring me to work toward meaningful, population-level impact.
