Isabella Whittall
Student | Full-time | United KingdomMSc Control of Infectious Diseases
Educational/professional background
I graduated from Durham University this summer (July 2025), having studied Biological Sciences, and have come straight onto this master’s course.
Research interests or career goals
My motivation to study infectious diseases stems from my ambition to work towards addressing Neglected Tropical Diseases. During my undergraduate studies, I carried out a contemporary issues study on the NTD, leishmaniasis, and how to find a therapy. This initiated my curiosity to study infectious diseases further, particularly those afflicting tropical regions.
Why I chose LSHTM/my programme
I love LSHTM’s MSc Control of Infectious Diseases' interdisciplinary nature and flexibility of module choices that can be tailored to fit specific research goals and gain a broad knowledge of epidemiology and disease control programmes. I also love the diversity at LSHTM and the constant opportunity to meet and learn from people with different educational backgrounds.
