Educational/professional background
I am a medical doctor from Indonesia with professional experience across various healthcare settings in the country. My clinical work has taken me from primary to secondary care, and from preventive to curative services, in both public and private sectors. I also worked as a research assistant at one of Indonesia’s teaching hospitals prior to studying at LSHTM.
What I enjoyed most about studying at LSHTM
What I enjoyed most about studying at LSHTM was definitely the students, which were truly the school’s greatest asset. It was an incredibly stimulating environment where I could learn from peers from all around the world, each bringing unique backgrounds and professional experiences. I also appreciated how each module was thoughtfully designed, using different learning methods and assignments that reflected real-world public health challenges, even welcomed voices beyond academia into our lectures and seminars. Studying at LSHTM really equipped me with a wide range of skills that I continue to use.
Since graduating I have been...
After graduation, I returned to my home country, Indonesia, and have been working with an international non-profit organization on a locally based HIV project. Transitioning from clinical medicine, this role has provided me the opportunity to engage in program implementation and health systems strengthening. I collaborate closely with government stakeholders, healthcare facilities, and private partners to enhance HIV clinical services, particularly to accelerate progress toward achieving the second and third 95 targets.
