Educational/professional background

Experienced Laboratory Manager with a solid background in scientific research and laboratory management.

What I enjoyed most about studying at LSHTM

I really enjoyed meeting and connecting with people from diverse cultural backgrounds around the world. One of the highlights for me was the MSc Medical Parasitology practical sessions, which were both highly engaging and interactive. I also have great memories of the residential field trip, where we learned about vector and parasite sampling in the beautiful English countryside. The hands-on experience, both in the lab and in the field, made this course truly unique.

What I have been doing since graduating

Since graduating, I have transitioned from academia to industry, building on a strong foundation in biomedical research and lab operations. I am currently Laboratory Manager at Thalya, an ag-tech startup developing sustainable plant-based biotechnological solutions. Before joining Thalya, I worked as Laboratory, Safety & Hygiene Manager at a cultivated meat company. Earlier in my career, I conducted malaria research at LSHTM and Imperial College London, before moving into neuroscience at King’s College London, where I served as Laboratory Manager at the Centre for Developmental Neurobiology. I later joined the Bordeaux Neurocampus as a research engineer, focusing on the pathophysiology of neuron–oligodendrocyte interactions.

Extra information

My professional journey has allowed me to bridge scientific research and operational management, and I continue to be passionate about fostering efficient, safe, and collaborative laboratory environments that enable innovation and discovery.
