Educational/professional background
I’m a registered nurse with eight years of experience, including several years as a travel nurse working across the United States. My time in hospitals from coast to coast gave me a deep appreciation for how healthcare systems differ and how policy decisions impact patient care. I hold both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Nursing from the University of New Hampshire.
Research interests or career goals
After years of bedside nursing, I became increasingly drawn to the broader systems that shape healthcare. My goal is to move into health policy, ideally within a government agency, to help improve access and equity in healthcare.
Why I chose LSHTM/my programme
I chose LSHTM for its global outlook and its reputation as one of the world’s leading public health institutions. I knew it would be the right place to learn from experts, connect with a diverse community, and gain the skills to shift from clinical practice to public health policy.
Extra information
I’m happy to offer advice on balancing part-time work, transitioning careers from nursing, and settling into life in London as an international student. Having been through a big transition myself, I know how much it helps to connect with someone who’s been there!
