Educational/professional background

I hold a Bachelor of Science (BSc) Liberal Arts and Natural Sciences from the University of Birmingham. My BSc majored in neuroscience, completing my dissertation on the impacts of air pollution on social cognition and neurobiology. I completed a one-year exchange at the University of Ottawa, Canada. I then worked as an NIHR Research Associate at the University of Birmingham, before graduating in July 2025 and starting my MSc.

Research interests or career goals

I am most interested in the health co-benefits of climate mitigation, particularly how interventions that reduce emissions can simultaneously improve population health and reduce inequalities. I am inspired by LSHTM’s Pathfinder Initiative, which highlights real-world examples of climate actions delivering measurable health benefits, and I hope to contribute to similar evidence-based projects that bridge research and policy. I aspire to work within international organisations such as the Wellcome Trust and the WHO to support global action on climate change and planetary health.

Why I chose LSHTM/my programme

I first discovered LSHTM through my dissertation research and academic studies in environment and health. Building on my BSc, I was drawn to the School’s interdisciplinary approach and international perspective, both of which align with my academic interests and career goals. I chose the MSc Climate Change and Planetary Health because of its opportunities to learn from and collaborate with leading researchers and practitioners, as well as its unique perspective examining the interconnections between planetary and human health – an area of growing urgency as climate change intensifies as a global health crisis.
