Educational/professional background

With eight years of experience as a practising ophthalmologist, I have held leadership roles including Head of Department and Chair of the Tanzania Ophthalmology Society (TOS). As a Master Trainer for Primary Eye Care, I have contributed to capacity building in the field and worked closely with the Ministry of Health to develop national eye care guidelines.

Research interests or career goals

My career goal is to advance research on sustainable, cost-effective mechanisms that reduce the burden of avoidable blindness in resource-limited settings and promote equitable access to eye care.
