MSc Immunology of Infectious Diseases

Brittain Ross

Educational/professional background

I graduated from the University of Georgia in 2024 with a BSc in Microbiology. After graduating, I worked at Boehringer Ingelheim in vaccine production prior to starting my MSc at LSHTM.

Research interests or career goals

I am interested in bacterial and viral pathogenesis, how our immune system responds to infection, and vaccine/drug development. I hope to continue with a PhD and possibly return to working in the pharmaceutical industry.

Why I chose LSHTM/my programme

I chose LSHTM for my MSc Immunology of Infectious Diseases because very few institutions offer programs specifically focused on the immunology of infectious diseases. I also wanted to study at a place where the research is global health oriented and highly relevant to current global health threats that need to be addressed. If you are interested in infectious diseases, LSHTM is one of the best institutions to study them!

Extra information

I’m happy to answer questions about being an international student, going from working full time to an MSc student, or any questions specific to the Immunology of Infectious Disease course.
