Educational/professional background
I started my course shortly after finishing my BSc Biomedical Sciences with a year of experience in big pharma and various experiences in hospital settings in the Philippines and the UK.
Research interests or career goals
My research interests are focused on understanding key mechanisms affecting the progression and prognosis of diseases which disproportionately affect populations in low and middle-income countries.
Why I chose LSHTM/my programme
I chose LSHTM as it is a world leader in international health, and you get the opportunity to learn from some of the most renowned researchers in the field about different types of diseases. I am specifically interested in harnessing my learnings and being able to make an impact in global organisations and NGO’s specifically focusing on increasing education and access to improved healthcare for children, and I think the specialities LSHTM provides set me up perfectly!
