Avery Wong
Student | Intercalating | Hong KongMSc Reproductive & Sexual Health Research
Educational/professional background
I am a medical student studying the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at the University of Hong Kong. I am currently intercalating at LSHTM during my third year of medical school.
Research interests or career goals
I am interested in how public health approaches can be used to address issues related to reproductive and sexual health. As a medical student, I hope to broaden my perspective beyond the clinical setting by exploring areas such as health policy and research methodologies. My goal is to integrate these insights into future clinical practice to better understand and respond to the complex factors that influence patient health and wellbeing.
Why I chose LSHTM/my programme
I chose LSHTM because of its global reputation and culturally diverse learning environment, which brings together students from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences. This programme offers an opportunity to deepen my understanding of reproductive and sexual health from a public health perspective, which can provide me with new ways of thinking and equip me with the skills to make meaningful contributions in my future medical career.
