Ava Arjun
Student | Full-time | IndiaMSc Immunology of Infectious Diseases
Educational/professional background
My name is Ava Arjun, and I am currently pursuing an MSc Immunology of Infectious Diseases at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. I completed my B.Sc. (Hons.) in Biological Sciences at Krea University, Andhra Pradesh, in June 2025. My academic journey has nurtured a deep fascination with the intricate mechanisms of immuneprotection and how these processes influence disease pathology in physiological settings.
Research interests or career goals
In the long term, I also aspire to contribute to scientific communication, especially regarding the emergence of novel zoonotic and infectious diseases in an increasingly globalised world. As an Indian national with a passion for translational research and public engagement, I aim to bridge the gap between scientific discovery and public understanding to promote awareness and preparedness against global health threats.
Why I chose LSHTM/my programme
At LSHTM, I am particularly drawn to the program’s emphasis on laboratory-based learning, which allows me to strengthen my practical and analytical skills while engaging with cutting-edge immunological research. After completing my master’s, I hope to join a research fellowship in a lab focusing on therapeutic applications for infectious diseases.
