Ashwini Prabhakaran
Student | Full-time | IndiaMSc Public Health for Global Practice
Educational/professional background
I have a double major in Psychology and Gender, Race, Sexuality, and Social Justice from the University of British Columbia (UBC), Canada. On graduating, I first worked with the Canadian Mental Health Association BC Division, helping individuals across the province navigate the mental health system. My most recent role was a Research Assistant with the Global Control of HPV-related Diseases and Cancer team at the School of Population and Public Health, UBC. I worked across both their local and global projects, particularly those focusing on cervical cancer screening.
Research interests or career goals
My research interests lie within the realm of global health and women’s health, with a focus on improving access to and equity in healthcare for women in low-resource settings.
