Aritrik Das
Student | Full-time | IndiaMSc Health Policy, Planning & Financing
Educational/professional background
I am a doctor with an MBBS, an MD (Doctor of Medicine) in Community Medicine and a Postgraduate Diploma in health and family welfare management from India. I have worked for 6 years in health care delivery, health programme management, public health research, training and pedagogy.
Research interests or career goals
I am interested in a future career in health policy and decision making, and the generation and appraisal of evidence to guide the same. I am particularly interested in research addressing health inequities and the economic evaluation of public health interventions.
Why I chose LSHTM/my programme
With my background as a physician-public health specialist, I was intent on further training in health policy and health economics, and my course (MSc Health Policy, Planning and Financing) is a match made in heaven for my interests. It combines the world-class public health experience of LSHTM with important perspectives on health policy and economics from LSE.
Extra information
I can provide information on the unique experience of my MSc as well as give insight into how the learning complements my medical background. Having shifted to London from India, I can also help provide information on the experience of an Indian international student with no family or personal ties in the city/country.
