About Us
Founded in 1988, the Clinical Laboratories and Biobanking Platform has grown into a cornerstone of the MRC/UVRI and LSHTM Uganda Research Unit’s research infrastructure. With sites in Entebbe, Masaka, and Kyamulibwa, the platform delivers accredited diagnostic services and biobanking support while championing regional capacity building and quality standards in laboratory science.
Our Services
We provide a wide range of accredited clinical diagnostic services in hematology, microbiology, biochemistry, and molecular diagnostics, alongside efficient sample collection and management systems. Our certified biobank supports global research through high-quality biospecimen processing, storage, and sharing with national and international health stakeholders.

Our operations span six laboratories across three regions, equipped with high-throughput analytical platforms and a world-class biobank. Supported by an expert team and robust Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), we ensure data integrity and sample traceability while advancing research excellence.
