The environment at the Centre for Evaluation is welcoming, with dedicated staff doing exemplary work. Collaborating with fellow SLOs in meetings and event planning adds to the enriching experience.
Where is your hometown?
I hail from Minneapolis, Minnesota.
What were your childhood aspirations?
In my youth, I dreamt of becoming a medical doctor. However, during my undergraduate studies, my interest shifted towards addressing health disparities through a population/systems approach, leading me to pursue public health.
What's the most enjoyable aspect of working with other SLOs and Centre members?
Interacting with MSc students from various programs fosters cross-disciplinary connections within LSHTM. Additionally, building relationships with staff members, some of whom teach on my modules, extends learning beyond the classroom.
Beyond studies, what are your hobbies and interests?
Outside of academia, I delight in exploring London's attractions, from sightseeing to enjoying outdoor activities like downhill skiing and rock climbing. I also indulge in playing traditional Irish music, often found in London's vibrant traditional music scene, and spending weekends in pubs playing tunes on my fiddle.
Where do you envision yourself post-MSc?
After completing my MSc, I plan to gain experience working in London, exploring opportunities in healthcare consulting, NGOs, or policy-related roles. Additionally, I am eager to contribute to healthcare initiatives globally, fostering my interest in international work.
