The AMR Centre are pleased to announce that the short course Antimicrobial Resistance: A Multidisciplinary Approach, will take place from 4-8 July 2022. The keynote lecture will be given by Ramanan Laxminarayan.

The course addresses the need to understand multiple aspects of the intractable problem of antimicrobial resistance. It aims to enable attendees to develop interdisciplinary, multi-sectoral One Health responses and interventions to reduce the global threat of AMR.

Discounts are available for participants joining us from low- and middle-income countries.

The course will be structured around five daily themes:

  • Why does AMR Matter?
  • Biology of Antibacterial Resistance
  • Counting Antimicrobial Resistance and Antimicrobial Use
  • Controlling AMR: Reducing transmission
  • Controlling AMR: Reducing antimicrobial usage

Each day we will tackle a new theme, through a multidisciplinary series of lectures, interactive workshops and live Q&A discussion sessions. Attendees will also have the opportunity to interact online with expert lecturers and LSHTM AMR Centre members from a range of disciplines.

The course is aimed at those designing, implementing and evaluating strategies to address AMR. The course will have a focus on low- and middle-income countries.

Due to ongoing uncertainties surrounding travel logistics and safety due to the COVID19 pandemic, the 2022 course will once again be held online.
