This is a group of colleagues within the department of Health Services Research & Policy who have an interest in qualitative research. It spans both practical methodological issues, and debates and ideas which can inform our research to ensure it is novel and innovative.
People at all stages of their careers – from research degree students through to experienced professors – are all welcome.
We hold sessions throughout the year, during which we meet and discuss current work, future ideas, readings that we may find useful or stimulating, and think collectively about how to work with colleagues who use contrasting research designs.
The central remit of the group is to explore how best to capture and convey the experience of individuals and groups in relation to specific health topics. Although we may draw on social science ideas, the group is not restricted to any particular disciplinary approach.
