About

We research road safety and the wider public health implications of transport systems.

Research

The IEPRG research portfolio includes observational epidemiological studies, including evaluations of natural experiments on:

  • Pedestrian safety in relation to electric and hybrid-electric cars
  • The effect of SUVs on injury severity for pedestrians and cyclists
  • The effect of Low Traffic Neighbourhoods on road injuries in London
  • The effect of reduced street lighting on road injuries and crime
  • The effect of 20 mph traffic speed zones on road injuries in London
  • Construction site injuries in Delhi, India

The research portfolio also includes studies with a wider focus, for instance the impacts of active travel interventions on travel behaviour and health.

Research degrees

We welcome applications from prospective students wishing to study for the PhD or DrPH research degrees at LSHTM.
