John-george Nicholson is Head of the Strategic Education Office (SEO) at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM). Since joining in October 2024, he has been leading the establishment of this new office, focused on strengthening LSHTM’s education portfolio, expanding global collaborations, and developing income-generating opportunities that support the School’s long-term financial sustainability.

The SEO works across LSHTM to support the development of new and existing programmes, curriculum licensing, bespoke education, intercalation pathways, short courses, and education consultancy. It also plays a key role in advancing international partnerships and identifying new opportunities that align with LSHTM’s mission to improve health worldwide.

John-george holds an MBA in Higher Education Management from the UCL Institute of Education (2023) and has over fifteen years’ experience in business development and management roles in higher education.

Before joining LSHTM, he held senior leadership roles at UCL, where he led business development and the delivery of international education collaborations and partnerships across the Faculty of Medical Sciences and the Centre for International Medical Education Collaborations (CIMEC).

His international experience includes developing collaborations and consultancy projects with ministries, universities, and industry in countries such as Brazil, China, Colombia, Egypt, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Thailand.
