Research interests or career goals
I am interested in plant-based diets for sustainable food systems, particularly in LMICs. During my undergraduate studies, I explored a wide range of theories in International Relations and became particularly interested in the interplay between food systems and colonial power structures.
Why I chose LSHTM/my programme
I chose to study at LSHTM because the university is one of the leading institutions in global health and welcomes students from a wide range of backgrounds. LSHTM equips students with the fundamental skills needed for roles in public health while also giving them the possibility to explore their own interests within their study programme. MSc Nutrition for Global Health covers the major issues in global nutrition in its core modules, and students can choose additional modules that best suit their interests. At the undergraduate level, I acquired qualitative research abilities which I wanted to complement with quantitative skills. The MSc was the perfect opportunity to do that, and understand the importance and context for the use of each.
