The launch of LSHTM Research Online demonstrates the School’s commitment to making the results of research freely accessible to academic, policy and practitioner communities worldwide. It is intended that the open access platform will maximise the impact of the School’s research in order to improve health worldwide.
Speaking at the launch event, Peter Piot, Director of the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, said: "This will help colleagues and researchers around the world, especially in low and middle income countries. Our work will have a greater impact on policy because people in all organisations including government, charities and development agencies now have easy access to the research we are doing at the School."
