Evaluating Impact: A training programme for children with disabilities

Evaluating Impact: A parent empowerment training programme for children with disabilities

About the seminar:

Cerebral palsy is the most common cause of physical disability in children worldwide, and yet in most low resource settings there are few services available to support children with cerebral palsy or their families.

This seminar will present the findings of a 2-year mixed methods study to evaluate the impact of a participatory caregiver training programme in Ghana.

About the Speakers:

Maria Zuurmond is a Research Fellow in Adolescent Health and Child Disability with ICED. Maria’s work focuses on mixed methods research using participatory research tools and operational research with children and adolescents with disabilities, including work in Kenya, Cameroon, India and Ghana.

Sarah Polack is an Associate Professor with ICED with a focus on disability survey methodology and access to health and rehabilitation services for people with disabilities in Low and Middle Income Countries.

If coming from outside the school, please sign in at reception when you arrive, and a member from the Disability Centre will be waiting in the foyer to accompany you to the theatre.
