Overview - Introduction to Pharmacoepidemiology

The increasing use of real-world data to evaluate drug safety and effectiveness has created a growing demand for strong foundational training in pharmacoepidemiology. This course provides an essential introduction to the core methods used to study the safety and effects of medicines. Students will explore how to design, analyse, and interpret pharmacoepidemiological studies, while critically evaluating the strengths and limitations of both randomised and observational study designs.
This course can be taken as a standalone course or as the first in a series of courses that form the Professional Certificate in Pharmacoepidemiology & Pharmacovigilance.
