Entry criteria

The Professional Diploma in Tropical Medicine & Hygiene is open to doctors who hold a medical qualification from a recognised medical school in any country who are registered for medical practice in that country. The number of participants is limited to 70.

Priority may be given to students from low- and middle-income countries and to those with at least three years of post-qualification clinical experience. Places are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

English language requirements

If English is not your first language, you will need to meet these requirements: Band B.

Some applicants may be exempt if they have previously studied in English or meet other specified criteria. Please see our English language requirements for details.

Please note that applicants for the Professional Diploma in Tropical Medicine & Hygiene (DTM&H) will not be required to take an English language test if they have 18 months experience working in the UK or Republic of Ireland within the last five years.

It is possible to apply without English language test results however the results of a test may be listed as a condition of an offer of admission.
