I am a Consultant Geriatrician based in Northeast London. Over the past eleven years, I have led the development of a range of Acute Frailty Services to meet the needs of a rapidly ageing population. I also completed an MSc in Health Economics, Policy and Management at the London School of Economics and Political Science, with a dissertation on the appropriateness of EQ-5D to measure health states in older people.
I am particularly interested in healthy ageing, primary and secondary prevention of frailty, and determinants of health, with a focus on the impact of environmental change on health and care outcomes in older people.

Teaching
I have been lecturing at an undergraduate and postgraduate level for over fifteen years on subjects related to the health and care of older people.
Research
My research project focuses on the effects of extreme weather, such as extreme heat and heatwaves, on older people's unplanned healthcare needs. This research will provide valuable insights into how we can better prepare for and respond to weather hazards and ultimately improve the quality of care for older people living with frailty.
