Res - LSHTM-Nagasaki University Joint PhD Programme for Global Health - Epidemiology & Population Health

I am a PhD student on the Nagasaki University – London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine Joint PhD for Global Health. I am an ID physician by background, and have a longstanding academic interest in Leptospirosis, Tuberculosis, and Neglected Tropical Diseases
The evidence for the management of leptospirosis, particularly in severe disease, is clouded by methodological inconsistency and a lack of established outcome measures. The primary aim of my PhD is to systematically address gaps in research evidence for the management of Leptospirosis in order to identify a therapeutic intervention to test in a rigorously designed multi-site international clinical trial.
I am keen to form inter-institutional collaborative projects with centres where Leptospirosis is managed, with the goal of developing an academic network that can be used to build towards an international clinical trial of a single or multiple interventions for Leptospirosis.
