Academic Postions

I am a physical geographer and climate & environmental scientist whose quantitative research focuses on climate change, climate impacts, and public health. I currently hold a Walter Benjamin-Programme Fellowship from the German Research Foundation (DFG): Project Details. As part of the fellowship, I am an Honorary Research Fellow at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM), in the Department of Public Health, Environments and Society (PHES).

Before joining LSHTM, I was a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the School of Public Health, Imperial College London, where I worked within the Wellcome-funded climate programme of the Vaccine Impact Modelling Consortium (VIMC). During my doctorate, I worked as a Research Assistant (wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin) at the Faculties of Applied Computer Science and Medicine, University of Augsburg.

Education

In August 2023 I was awarded a Dr. rer. nat. (Doctor of Natural Sciences) in Climate and Environmental Sciences by the Faculty of Applied Computer Science, University of Augsburg, where I had been a doctoral researcher since 2018. In the final phase of my doctorate (Jan-Dec 2022) I held a Scholarship for Excellent Young Academics (Realizing Equal Opportunities for Women in Research and Teaching), which recognises outstanding academic performance in research and teaching.

I hold an MSc in Climate and Environmental Sciences from the University of Augsburg (grade 1.13, very good) and a BSc in Geography with a minor in Economics from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU Munich), graduating in the top 10% of my year (grade 1.88). As part of my studies I completed a research term at the Alfred Wegener Institute (AWI), Helmholtz Centre for Polar and Marine Research, in Potsdam, and spent a semester abroad at the University of Alberta, Canada, supported by the PROSALMU scholarship programme of the DAAD and the Bavarian State.
