Miss Shereen Hussain

Research Student - MRC LID Scholarship Record

United Kingdom

I am a PhD candidate on the MRC-LID Doctoral Training Programme, jointly based at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine and City St George’s, University of London. Within LSHTM, I am based in the Department of Public Health, Environments and Society, in the Faculty of Public Health and Policy.

I completed my MSc in Public Health at LSHTM in 2024. I have an interdisciplinary academic background, with research experience spanning epidemiology and qualitative methods.

My PhD research focuses on the impact of environmental transportation noise on mental health and wellbeing in children and adolescents, using epidemiological methods and environmental exposure modelling. I am particularly interested in understanding how environmental exposures contribute to inequalities in mental health, and how these relationships may vary across different social and demographic groups.

I am also a student and digital content ambassador at LSHTM.
