Research Student - MPhil/PhD - Epidemiology & Population Health

United Kingdom

I am a research degree student focusing on tuberculosis control in Nigeria. My work uses modelling to understand how epidemiological, economic and environmental factors shape TB transmission and outcomes. I trained in veterinary medicine and completed an MSc in Veterinary Public Health. I have worked in abattoir disease surveillance and antimicrobial resistance research. I am interested in how evidence from modelling can support more effective and equitable approaches to infectious disease control. I am supported by a scholarship from the Nigerian government.

Research

My research looks at how modelling can help guide decisions on TB control and prevention in Nigeria. I am exploring how epidemiological and economic evidence can inform national policies and resource allocation for screening and vaccination. My broader interests include zoonotic tuberculosis and the wider One Health and climatic factors that influence infectious disease transmission and control, including interactions between humans, animals and the environment.
