Raising Funds for the Val Curtis Memorial Fund at LSHTM

Charity Cricket Match in 2021, raising funds for the Val Curtis Memorial Fund.

On 17 July 2022, Abi and Naima Sakande, the late Professor Val Curtis’ children, hosted a charity cricket game on Lindfield Common to raise funds for the Val Curtis Memorial Fund, which remembers and celebrates the life of the extraordinary, pioneering LSHTM Professor Val Curtis.

Val’s friends and family organised their 2nd annual memorial game on Lindfield Common this summer, raising a fantastic £1,000 to support the fund. They chose to hold the game again this year after the success of their pilot event in July 2021, and they plan to host the event annually in future.
