Educational/professional background

I have a BSc Biomedical Sciences from the University of Ottawa. For the past 2 years I have worked on multiple public health initiatives and in particular pandemic response teams with both governmental and non-governmental organizations which sparked my interest to obtain further education.

Research interests or career goals

I am interested in every aspect of disease epidemiology and control, and I hope to use my time at LSHTM this year to pinpoint a particular area of infectious disease control where I can further develop my interests and use my expertise to advance global health.

Why I chose LSHTM/my programme

I chose LSHTM so that I could further my education in the subject of infectious diseases at a leading university in the world, surrounded by innovators in the field. The MSc Control of Infectious Diseases was of particular interest because of the varied curriculum of the program, which covers a range of topics including epidemiology, disease surveillance, outbreak investigation and disease control strategies. This flexibility will enable me to tailor my learning to my specific interests and career aspirations while also opening a deeper understanding of the various facets of infectious disease control.
