Educational/professional background

I have a Medical Doctor degree from the University of Lisbon (2011), and I am finishing my residency in Public Health. I completed MSc Public Health at LSHTM (2014), a Master of Arts degree in Political Science and International Relations, with major in European Studies, from the NOVA University, Portugal (2017). I also have an MBA from IE Business school and a Masters of Advanced Management from Yale University (2020). I am also a PhD candidate at Maastricht University, and my thesis focuses on HIV and sexually transmitted infections in vulnerable populations in Portugal.

Besides studying and finishing my residency, I have been a Consultant for WHO in several capacities, and also the Vice-President of the EUPHA section on Public Health Policies and Politics, and a member of the Advisory Board of Forum Alpbach.
