Educational/professional background

I am a medical doctor and a Public Health specialist.

Since graduation, I have worked for the Ministry of Health. Within the field of Public Health, I started my career as a grassroots-level health worker and proceeded to work at the national level. I have worked for the Management, Development and Planning Unit of the Ministry of Health, the Family Health Bureau and the Epidemiology Unit, where I have been since 2020, and extensively contributed to the surveillance and control of the pandemic and the COVID-19 national vaccination program.

I have professional experience in public health policy development, healthcare planning, and monitoring and evaluation of health programs at the national and sub-national levels.

Research interests or career goals

I am highly interested in pursuing health systems and health economics research in low and middle-income settings. I am also keen on gaining skills in the modelling of infectious diseases. I have research experience in universal health coverage, primary healthcare, human resources for health, and non-communicable diseases.

Why I chose LSHTM/my programme

I chose LSHTM, given its exemplary track record in education and research. Through the MSc Health Policy, Planning and Financing, I wish to enhance my knowledge and skills in health economics to enable me to advocate and support the inclusion of health economic analyses in decision-making in low and middle-income settings.

I am also a Student Liaison Officer of the Global Health Economics Centre at LSHTM.
