My name is Zelin. I am a medical doctor from Indonesia, currently studying MSc in Public Health – Health Economics Stream. I have worked at both private and public health care sector at primary and secondary care level as well as working for a couple of research projects.
Research interests or career goals
My interest lies in studying health financing and applying economic analysis to assess health programs; to learning data analysis and disease modelling. I am also one of the Student Liaison Officers for the Antimicrobial Research Centre, which is also one of my research topic interests. I am interested to learn public health because I believe preventive healthcare is important in order to improve a nation’s health.
Why I chose LSHTM/my programme
I chose LSHTM because the School has one of the best public health programs and flexible module choices that cater to my needs. The curriculum is very comprehensive and I get the option to ‘specialise’ in health economics, one of the six streams offered. I believe I will get the most out of my time in London! PS: The Public Health program throws the best welcoming party!
