Educational/professional background

I have worked both in a clinical and non-clinical set up with in the public sector since I graduated with a medical degree from Addis Ababa University in 2016. I have worked as a lecturer in the pediatrics and child health department of the university , as a General Practitioner and Medical Director of a Primary hospital and later worked at  the Federal Ministry of Health of Ethiopia as a System Strengthening Deputy Director General of the Ethiopian Pharmaceutical Supply Agency.

Research interests or career goals

I am interested to work in cost effective public health program designing and policy implementation to strengthen health systems in low resource settings. 

Why I chose LSHTM/my programme

I chose LSHTM and my course with aim of learning at a globally recognised public health institution and acquire the necessary skill and knowledge as public health leader. The MSc Public Health (Health Economics stream) allows me to study Economic Evaluations and Analysis with integration of various modules on Public Health issues, Health Systems and Policy which  I am much interested to learn and apply in my future career.
