Educational/professional background

Prior to joining LSHTM I obtained a medical degree from the University of Rome Tor Vergata and I trained as an obstetrician-gynecologist in the same institution. I have also been collaborating with the Italian Ministry of Health on the COVID-19 response team and have been working as a consultant Ob-Gyn in private practice. I have volunteered for 1 year at an Italian NGO (InterSoS) providing medical care to marginalized women and unaccompanied minors. I am also an ultrasound tutor for the International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology (ISUOG).

Research interests/career goals

I have always been passionate about Public Health ever since Medical School. Given my background, reproductive health is close to my heart and my main areas of interest include maternal and perinatal health and infertility/pelvic pain. A career in research is what I would love to pursue in the near future.

Why I chose LSHTM/my programme

I chose LSHTM to gain the necessary skills to conduct research in the field of reproductive health. LSHTM is an excellent place to advance in research competencies while being exposed to a diverse and vibrant academic environment. So far I am very pleased with my choice and have learned so much!
