Why I chose LSHTM/my programme

Through completing my undergraduate dissertation on the development of epilepsy after infection with P. falciparum malaria and T. solium neurocysticercosis, I gained a strong passion for parasitic diseases which I wanted to explore further. I was drawn to the MSc Medical Parasitology at LSHTM due to the unique module choices it offered and the strong laboratory element to build upon my practical skills. Currently, I am finding the malaria pathogenesis element to the course really interesting, but I have also enjoyed exploring other neglected tropical diseases and learning about the importance of medical entomology within the field.
