Educational/professional background
I’m a medical doctor from India and am currently enrolled as a full-time student in the MSc Health Policy, Planning & Financing course at LSHTM.
Research interests or career goals
Despite the undeniable importance of Medical Science, after working for 3 years in different public hospitals in India I realised that there are certain health system issues that are far beyond the reach of clinical medicine. This is what prompted me to look for further study options that could provide me with specific skills in the health policy domain. I aim to work with the WHO in the health policy department or in the Ministry of Health of countries to work for health policy reforms while advancing towards Universal Health Coverage.
Why I chose LSHTM/my programme
I chose London from a few options because it is such an international city. This is also reflected in the fact that my class-mates are from different parts of the world and conversations about policy and other issues with them augments the whole learning experience and makes studying at LSHTM really unique.
