Early application fee reduction - Eligibility and terms and conditions

Early application fee reduction for UK MSc students 2024-25

If you are a student from the UK (and have a home fee status), you will be eligible to receive a 5% reduction in your tuition fee if you submit your application by Friday 5 April 2024 and subsequently register onto one of our in-person MSc programmes (some exclusions apply, see detailed terms and conditions below).

You must be applying for full-time study on a programme starting in September 2024; be funding your fees yourself; and be a new applicant.

If you meet the above criteria and submit your application by the deadline, you will automatically receive the tuition fee discount.

Eligibility, terms and conditions

The following terms apply to the LSHTM early payment fee reduction for 2024-25 applicants:

  1. The tuition fee reduction is available on all LSHTM in-person MSc programmes, excluding: Global Mental Health. 
  2. To benefit from the 5% fee reduction, you must have successfully submitted an application to LSHTM by 23:59 UK time on Friday 5 April 2024. You must subsequently accept an offer and complete your registration with LSHTM.
  3. You must have a UK (Home) fee status. If you are unsure of your fee status, please check our Fee Assessment Policy.
  4. You must be paying tuition fees yourself. You cannot be considered if your employer or other sponsor is paying the fees on your behalf. You also cannot be considered if you are in receipt of a scholarship that covers your tuition fees.
  5. You must be registered as a full-time student on an eligible programme.
  6. You cannot be considered if you are a currently registered LSHTM student, or if you have deferred your place with us from 2023-24.
  7. The fee reduction cannot be transferred to another individual.
  8. If you withdraw from your programme prior to completion, you will no longer be eligible for the fee reduction.
  9. The fee reduction cannot be retroactively applied to studies in previous academic years.

General terms

1. As part of the early application fee reduction award, LSHTM may ask you to participate in marketing related activities and/or events to promote and share your experiences of this scheme. Examples of typical activities include participating in an interview, providing a profile for LSHTM’s website or prospectus or attending an open day or induction event. If you participate in such activities and/or events, you agree for LSHTM to use any material resulting from such activities and/or events for the purposes of publicity material and/or for the education of other students, whether electronically or in print. You furthermore release and discharge LSHTM and its agents, representatives and assignees from any and all claims and demands arising out of or in connection with the use of the publicity material, including without limitation any and all claims for invasion of privacy and defamation. Additionally, you agree that the copyright of any publicity material shall be wholly vested in LSHTM and you hereby assign to LSHTM any and all rights in the publicity material.

2. By agreeing to these Terms and Conditions, you are giving LSHTM the right to hold and process your personal data, including some sensitive personal data. LSHTM will process this personal data (including any personal data provided as part of participation in a marketing related activity and/or event under clause 16) in accordance with the UK Data Protection legislation and the LSHTM’s Data Protection Policy. LSHTM will only share data with third parties in accordance with its Data Protection Policy and LSHTM will remain the data controller of the data. The Data Protection Policy is applicable from the time of accepting these Terms and Conditions.

3. Each of the clauses of these Terms and Conditions operate separately. If a clause or any part of a clause is or becomes invalid, illegal or unenforceable, it shall be deemed deleted, but that shall not affect the validity and enforceability of the rest of these Terms and Conditions which shall remain in full force and effect.

4. These Terms and Conditions constitute the entire agreement between you and LSHTM in relation to the early application fee reduction award. All previous agreements, arrangements and understandings between you and LSHTM relating to the early application fee reduction award, whether written or oral, shall have no legal effect unless expressly set out in these Terms and Conditions.
