We have numerous research connections with institutions across Europe, and a number of researchers based across the continent. In 2020 we joined the European Global Health Research Institutes Network (EGHRIN), a new network of leading research institutions in Europe with a shared aim of promoting and advocating for Global Health research and innovation.

Some of our key partners include:

Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin, Germany

LSHTM has partnered with Charité to enhance collaboration and cooperation in global health. A group of LSHTM researchers (LSHTM Berlin) is based at the Charité Institute of Virology, which is part of the new Charité Global Health centre, to establish the initial stages of the partnership and identify joint research opportunities. The LSHTM-Charité Global Health Lecture Series brings together leading scientists from the UK, Germany and further afield to present cutting-edge research on pressing global health issues and to discuss the implications of their work for policy and practice.

Rega Institute, Belgium

LSHTM is developing a partnership with the Rega Institute for Medical Research at the Catholic University of Leuven. Initial discussions have focussed on collaboration in the broad areas of infectious disease research and vaccine development, but more specific researcher-to-research links are now being explored through a series of exchange visits.
