Dr Sharon Cadogan

Sharon joined the Electronic Health Records group in the Department of Non-Communicable Epidemiology in June 2019 as a Research Fellow. Her research interests include using routinely collected health data to answer important clinical research questions. She is currently working with Dr Charlotte Warren-Gash on a number of projects related to Dementia and Encephalitis, using UK electronic health data from the Clinical Practice Research Database (CPRD) and linked Hospital Episode Statistics data. She holds a PhD in Health Services Research from University College Cork, Ireland. Her PhD research involved the use of routinely collected laboratory data linked with primary care data to design and evaluate a laboratory based intervention targeting unnecessary test ordering in Primary Care.
