Educational/professional background
Hi, I’m Jeffrey Au from Hong Kong, and I’m an intercalating medical student from the University of Hong Kong studying the MSc Public Health at LSHTM. I previously participated in the Asian Medical Students’ Association of Hong Kong as a National Exchange Officer, and the exposure to international health issues and solutions through that post was a major factor in me choosing to study Public Health.
Research interests or career goals
After I return to Hong Kong to complete my medical training, I would like to combine my clinical background with the experience in the Health Services Management field I will gain this year to improve patient outcomes, both on a micro and macro level.
Why I chose LSHTM/my programme
I chose LSHTM because of their proud history and track record of cutting-edge research, international outlook and their great alumni and professorial network. My particular interest in finding functional, effective and efficient solutions to the gaps in healthcare and improving patient outcomes has been a big drive for my choice of stream in Public Health.
