Contact Katherine DaviesEducational/Professional Background
I completed my undergraduate degree in BSc Biological Sciences at the University of Exeter. During this time, I spent a year working in clinical research in the pharmaceutical industry. Following this, I joined the NHS Graduate Management Training Scheme where I spent three years rotating through several roles supporting the NHS’ response to the COVID-19 outbreak.
Research Interests or Career Goals
I am particularly interested in infectious disease control in the context of humanitarian crises such as armed conflicts and natural disasters. I hope to pursue a career in the humanitarian sector following my MSc.
Why I chose LSHTM/my programme
As a world-renowned research hub and a leader in public and global health, I knew studying at LSHTM would be an exciting opportunity to learn from researchers who are experts within their field. I was particularly drawn by the variety of centres to get involved with, including the Health in Humanitarian Crises Centre. I chose the MSc Control of Infectious Diseases as it is a unique, multi-disciplinary course that offers a wide breadth of learning opportunities, allowing you to tailor the course to suit your interests whilst equipping you with the skills to pursue a career in infectious disease control.
