I manage the CREATE PhD Programme at LSHTM, overseeing a PhD fellowship programme across 11 higher education partner institutions (including 5 UK and 6 African partners). This programme expands doctoral training to nurses, midwives and allied health professionals. It encourages cross-disciplinary research and pairs each UK candidate with a candidate based at an African partner institution. The CREATE PhD Programme is a platform for improving equity, diversity and inclusivity in Global Health Research in Africa and is funded by Wellcome and other donors.
Prior to working at LSHTM, I've spent substantial time in Zambia, Zimbabwe and South Africa, working as a programme manager for non-governmental organisations, mainly in public health and medical education programmes.
