Elaine C. Flores is a Research Fellow in Planetary Health at the Centre on Climate Change and Planetary Health, LSHTM, and the Stanford Center for Innovation in Global Health.
Elaine C. Flores is a Peruvian Medical Doctor and mixed-methods researcher. She has an MSc in Epidemiology Research from Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia (UPCH) in Peru and a Ph.D. from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM).

Elaine is a co-Principal Investigator in the Environment x Women's Health project - ExWH. She is a co-founder of PLASMA - The Social Research Platform on Mental Health in Latin America. She is a member of the Centre for Global Mental Health (CGMH), a joint collaboration between LSHTM and King's Health Partners. She is also affiliated with Emerge - the Research Unit on Emerging Diseases and Climate Change and Clima - Centro Latinoamericano de Excelencia en Cambio Climático y Salud at the Faculty of Public Health in UPCH.
Additionally, Elaine has several years of professional experience in Clinical Research Operations, Clinical trials management, and medical writing. She has also worked in Quality Assurance, Clinical Trials monitoring, regulatory affairs, and auditing.

Her main work is on the mental health impact of environmental factors and disasters, resilience-promoting factors, social determinants of health, and other global health topics, especially with an LMIC and interdisciplinary perspective. She is interested in further exploring the links between mental health, climate change, and social inequalities across vulnerable groups, especially with a gender lens and community-based solutions.
