I have 6+ years of academic research experience in malaria and neuroscience. I have a BSc in Biology from the University of Bath.
What I enjoyed most about studying at LSHTM
I enjoyed meeting and getting to know people from around the world with different cultural backgrounds. I particularly liked the MSc Medical Parasitology practical sessions, they were very engaging and interactive.
I also fondly remember the fun had during the residential field trip on vector and parasite sampling in the English countryside. The hands-on experience available on this course, both in the lab and in the field, is unique. Joining LSHTM meant living in London, a city I had wanted to live in for a while, and my time spent in the home of Big Ben did not disappoint.
Since graduating I have been...
I have stayed in academia, initially conducting malaria research at LSHTM and Imperial College before making a switch to neuroscience at King’s College London, where I was laboratory manager at the Centre for Developmental Neurobiology. I have recently moved overseas, and am now a research engineer at the Bordeaux Neurocampus, investigating the pathophysiology of neuron-oligodendrocyte interactions.
