The development of Plasmodium falciparum resistance to the current most potent antimalarials, artemisinin-based combination therapies, is worrying and threatens the efforts to eliminate malaria. This PhD project evaluated the efficacy of dihydroartemisinin-piperaquine and artemether-lumefantrime for the treatment of clinical falciparum malaria in western Indonesia.
