The Concordat to Support the Career Development of Researchers
The Concordat to Support the Career Development of Researchers is an agreement between funders and employers of research staff to improve the employment and support for researchers and research careers in UK higher education. Its seven principles outline the expectations and responsibilities of researchers, managers, employers and funders. These aim to increase the attractiveness and sustainability of research careers in the UK and to improve the quantity, quality and impact of research for the benefit of UK society and the economy.
Implementation of the Concordat at LSHTM
The School is committed to embedding the principles of the Concordat into its policies and processes. We have conducted a gap analysis of current policies and practices against the Concordat principles. This has shown areas of action we feel are necessary to show we are meeting the Concordat principles – Action Plan.
