I am a Technical Officer at the European Observatory on Health Systems and Policies. My work focuses on the development of health systems and health policy in Eastern Europe, the South Caucasus and Central Asia. I edit Health System Reviews for many countries in this region as well as covering developments in the United Kingdom and editing the Policy Brief Series.
I have an honorary post in ECOHOST - the Centre for Health and Social Change where I co-organize the Global Health Labs. I am also an honorary research fellow at my alma mater, the Centre for Russian, Eurasian and European Studies (CREES) at the University of Birmingham.
I am a seminar leader on the "Issues in Public Health" module of the MSc in Public Health and lecture on health system reform at the University of York (UK) and the Kyiv Mohila Academy summer and winter schools in Ukraine.
My research focuses on the development of health systems and health policy in Eastern Europe, the South Caucasus and Central Asia and I have a particular interest in equity issues and moving towards Universal Health Coverage in these countries.
