I am an epidemiologist in the Medical Statistics department at LSHTM with an interest in non-communicable diseases, including asthma and chronic kidney disease. I completed an MSc in Epidemiology at LSHTM as a recipient of the International Statistics and Epidemiology Group East and Southern African Consortium for Outbreak Epidemiology Training (ISEG ENTRANT) Fellowship in 2022.

Prior to joining LSHTM, I worked at KEMRI-Wellcome Trust Research Programme and the County Public Health Office in Kenya.

Teaching

I am a tutor on the MSc Epidemiology, helping on two modules: Statistics for Epidemiology and Population Health (STEPH) in term 1 and Statistical Methods in Epidemiology (SME) in term 2.

I also tutor on the DL MSc Epidemiology programme for EPM105 (Writing and Reviewing Epidemiological Papers).

Research

I work on the CAMERA study investigating the causes and mechanisms of non-atopic asthma in children in HICs and LMICs.

I also work on the DEGREE study investigating epidemics of chronic kidney disease of unknown cause (CKDu) affecting disadvantaged populations (young adults) in LMICs.

I support data analysis for HEROES study investigating the impact of COVID-19 pandemic on the mental health (anxiety and depression) of clinical and non-clinical healthcare workers in Columbia.

My MSc summer project was on vitamin D status and the risk of malaria among children in East Africa.
